LifeBridge Health and ExpressCare Form Strategic Partnership

Baltimore, Md. - LifeBridge Health, one of Maryland's largest and most progressive health care systems, and ExpressCare, Maryland's fastest growing and second largest urgent care company, have joined forces. The new partnership became official on October 1.

ExpressCare currently operates 10 urgent care centers located in Baltimore, Harford, Cecil, Carroll, Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties, with plans to open four more within the next few months. LifeBridge Health, the corporate parent to Sinai and Northwest Hospitals and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, serves more than 340,000 patients and residents a year. LifeBridge Health has delivered care to patients from every county in Maryland, all 50 of the U.S. states, and over 80 countries.

"Urgent care plays an integral role in the new health care delivery system. With our new partner, ExpressCare, and our existing portfolio of health-related companies ranging from home care to medical transportation, LifeBridge Health is well positioned to continue building what we believe will be the most comprehensive continuum of care model in the state," said Neil M. Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health. "With each new relationship that LifeBridge Health forms, we seek partners that share our patient-centered values and business practice philosophies. We believe ExpressCare is an ideal match."

"We are very excited about our new relationship with LifeBridge Health," said Maurice Reid, M.D., CEO of ExpressCare. "ExpressCare's rapid growth is due to our focus on quality, service and convenience. It was important to me to have a partner that recognizes where the future of health care is going, that understands my quality of care and business philosophies, and that shares my vision to expand my business model across the state and region. I believe I have found just that in LifeBridge Health."
