Carroll Hospital Names Sarah Lentz, M.D., 2021 Physician of the Year and Judith Stambaugh, F.N.P., Advanced Practice Provider of the Year
Sarah Lentz, M.D., general surgery, was named Carroll Hospital's 2021 Physician of the Year, and Judith Stambaugh, family nurse practitioner, was named 2021 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year.
Affiliated with Carroll Hospital since 2013 (and prior to that from 2006 to 2010), Dr. Lentz was chosen for her expert surgical skills and high quality care of patients.
"Dr. Lentz has served as president of the medical staff and is a sought-after consultant and advisor. Her primary motivation is the safety and well-being of her patients," said Mark Olszyk, M.D., vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. "Because of her equanimity and dedication, she is very deserving of this award," he added.
"I have always felt I am a steward of my community and try to provide the best care possible, give back to the community and set a good example for my peers. Receiving this award really validates my work as a surgeon, being part of Carroll Hospital and the Carroll community," said Dr. Lentz.
Judith Stambaugh, F.N.P., has been affiliated with the hospital for 15 years. While consistently praised for her extraordinary care, her dedication and skill were highlighted during her assistance in helping a local long-term health facility effectively care for infected patients in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Judy went above and beyond serving as the sole provider at the nursing home and at the same time supplemented the nursing staff to take care of dozens of ailing patients," said Dr. Olszyk. "I can't think of anybody who contributed more to our efforts to combat the pandemic than Judy," he added.
"I am very appreciative of the recognition and everyone that supported me throughout this year. Receiving this award means I was able to touch the lives of others and lessen their load as much as they did so for me," said Stambaugh.
In honor of Doctor's Day, which is celebrated March 30, Carroll Hospital would like to also recognize the providers who received the Physician and Provider of the Month honors from March 2020 to February 2021.
