The staff members of The Krieger Eye Institute (KEI) are coming together to celebrate the Institute's 25th anniversary with an Eye Health Week event at the end of April. Officially, opening in 1991, the KEI has become a leader in eye care, offering patients expert service at Sinai and Northwest hospitals and the LifeBridge Pavilion at Quarry Lake.

"We are so excited to host the Eye Health Week event because it's our way of creating awareness of the top-notch eye care that's offered to LifeBridge Health employees and their covered family members," says Stefanie Thomas, director, Krieger Eye Institute. "Now employees can choose KEI for their eye health as part of their LifeBridge Health vision benefits and without being charged facility fees."

The Eye Health Week Event kicks-off from 7-10 a.m., 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and 3- 6 p.m. on Monday, April 24 in the Greenspring Cafe at Sinai Hospital and the Old Court Café at Northwest Hospital. Join in the fun with Ask the Ophthalmologist and prize wheel games. You can receive a free giveaway, too!

On Tuesday, April 25, the KEI is partnering with Sinai Endocrinology, Sinai Internal Medicine, Diabetic Resource Center and Sinai Community Care for a Diabetic & Eye Health Day. LifeBridge Health employees will have the chance to attend a variety of KEI provider meet and greets, including walk-in clinics and Eat with Your Eye Doctor education seminars at Sinai and Northwest hospitals and the LifeBridge Pavilion at Quarry Lake. Among other activities, enjoy an Optical Trunk Show, get a discount on cosmetic packages, update your frames or pick up a new pair of readers. Employees receive 40 percent discount lenses and frames, 20 percent off contact lenses and HSA's can be used at KEI retail stores.

The week will culminate with an eight- truck Food Truck Rally from 5- 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27.
